Vandy was born in Persia in 1965. He left Iran in 1978 before the revolution. After living in England, France, Greece and Spain he decided to make the Netherlands his home base.
Vandy started professional dj-ing in 1985 at the ‘Bios’, Amsterdam. At that time it was one of the hottest club in Amsterdam.
After a year he decided to head southern Europe to perform in Monaco, Cannes and Mallorca. Eventually he settled in Ibiza. Starting as guest Dj of The Legendary Space Club Ibiza from 1989 till 1990 and in 1991 1nd 1992 full resident and the ( jefe de cabina ) In charge of the Dj booth .
After several years of dj-ing in some of the most famous clubs in Europe, Vandy put his knowledge and experience into organizing party’s under the names: ‘Hour Power’ and ‘After Hour Power’. In 1992 Vandy organized the first after party ever in the Netherlands at ‘the Palace’ in Zaandam.
The numerous ‘Hour Power’ and ‘After Hour Power’ parties Vandy organized in the next couple of years helped to build up the names of the locations like ‘Escape’ ,’The Palace’, ‘Lexion’ and ‘Hemkade’. This put Zaandam on the map as one of the hottest party spots of the Netherlands.
Alongside the party business, Vandy invested his energy in producing songs and setting up two record labels : ‘Hour Power’ , ‘After Hour Power’ and his publishing company ‘Hour Power Music’.
In 1999 Vandy set up the ‘After Hour Power’ in Los Angeles. This made him the first Dutch party organizer to successfully bring European club concepts to the American market. And this was at a time when the house-scene was poorly represented on the US west coast.
In 2000 Vandy’s ultimate dream came true when he opened his very own club: The Power Zone. It is now the largest and most prestigious club of Amsterdam.
The Power Zone has build an unforgettable reputation within the European club-scene.
Music is his life and still now in 2011 he is dj,ing all over the world .
